Madeleine Van der Bruggen from the Offlimits Foundation emphasized that the phenomenon is very disturbing. “The child could take these photos, but they were widespread without permission or secretly recorded. The photos could be taken under the influence of encouragement, pressure, coercion, blackmail or threat on the part of an adult. Very little is known about this topic” – she added.

Already in 2023, the Foundation noticed that there are many photos taken by minors in circulation, in which very small children are often immortalized, and in 2024 she began to collect full data on this subject. The foundation decided that the facts are alarming and it is necessary to conduct research.

“We want to get more information on the nature, scale and influence (these images) and determine the image of children, their parents and perpetrators who urge to create (pornographic) materials. We need to know more about this topic to be able to prevent future victimization,” said Van der Bruggen. (PAP)
