The infrastructure of the port of Temryuk on the Sea of Azov, near the Kerch Strait, Russia, was damaged by a Ukrainian drone attack from Thursday night into Friday, Russian authorities announced, according to Reuters and the Kyiv Independent.
“A fire has broken out… Special and emergency services are working on the scene,” the local Emergency Center said on Telegram on Friday morning.
According to the Russian news channel Telegram, residents of the area said that this port in the Krasnodar region was attacked and that the fuel tanks caught fire.
Regional authorities did not specify what exactly was hit in the port, saying only that “elements of the port infrastructure in Temryuk were damaged.” All personnel were evacuated and there were no casualties, according to the Center for Emergency Situations.
The port of Temryuk is a key facility for the Russians on the Sea of Azov. It operates an oil export terminal, receiving, storing and transporting petroleum products. There is also a large liquefied petroleum gas facility there.
Moscow's Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 41 Ukrainian drones overnight, including one over the Krasnodar region, home to the port of Temryuk.
Unverified video footage shared online shows a massive fire:
The Temryuk port gas terminal, just across the Kerch strait from occupied Crimea on the Sea of Azov, has been sanctioned by drones.
Good video showing the night sky being lit up by a small damage-free fire. Should be some interesting satellite pictures soon. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/8nQgM45GSa

The vital seaport in Krasnodar Krai, is a bustling hub for oil product transshipment that receives, stores, and ships millions of tons annually.
