Poles do not believe in the country's wealth. Experts explain the skepticism


Despite these forecasts, Poles still do not consider themselves a rich nation. As reported by “Rzeczpospolita”, citing research by ARC Rynek i Opinia, only 16 percent of us rate Poland's wealth high enough to place it among the richest countries in the world.

On the other side of the barricade, there are people who consider Poland a poor country. The percentage of such responses in the study ARC Rynek i Opinia accounts for as much as 11%. Where did this result come from? Experts explain it, among others: influenced by historical experiences, such as propaganda from the times of the Polish People's Republic, which makes Poles skeptical of economic data.
Meanwhile The International Monetary Fund predicts that Polish GDP will reach USD 1.04 trillion this year.which will place our country among the leading global economies.

Only 20 percent society is aware that Poland stands out from other countries in terms of economy. Moreover, 43 percent respondents believe that our country ranks between 51st and 100th in the world in terms of wealth.
Dr. Adam Czarnecki, vice president of ARC Rynek i Opinia, in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita” notes that Poles tend to complain about various aspects of their lives, including their financial situation.

“At the same time, many people still have a really difficult financial situation, and in such a context it is difficult to associate it with the very good economic situation of the country,” he adds.
Experts point out that Poles' assessments of the economy often result from observations of their immediate surroundings. Employees of small companies express concerns about employment stability, and many people still remember high inflation, which additionally influences the pessimistic perception of the country's economic condition.
