Traffic police officers in three days large-scale preventive measures in Krasnoyarsk and on suburban highways amounted to more than 800 administrative protocols for various traffic violations.
To carry out the raids, additional traffic police forces were deployed to the roads at the end of last week. They managed to catch 45 drivers who got behind the wheel without a driving license. 36 drivers who were intoxicated were suspended from driving.
There were also 45 cases of failure to give priority to a pedestrian at a zebra crossing and another 38 cases of traffic violations by pedestrians themselves.
On country roads, 15 cases of illegal driving into oncoming traffic were recorded. Another 14 cases were suppressed when child passengers were transported without restraints, as well as 47 cases of neglect of seat belts by vehicle drivers.
In addition, over 140 traffic accidents were registered.
“The results of the preventive measures taken clearly show the need for a responsible attitude of every driver and pedestrian to comply with established standards of behavior on the road,” the traffic police noted. — Strict compliance with traffic rules helps reduce the number of accidents, save lives and health, and also avoid financial and legal consequences.
