The City Council of the City of Craiova decided, following the votes, that from 2026 the fees for the use of the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium for European matches should be reduced to less than half, from 193,478 lei per event, to 90,000 lei.

According to eprim.ro, in the year 2025, for football events, such as matches of the Romanian national team, including official training, and for internal matches in League 1, League 2, the Romanian Cup and the Romanian Supercup, the Municipality of Craiova will charge each event with the amount of 90,000 lei. This remains unchanged in 2026.

Conversely, if in 2025 the Champions League, Europa League or Conference LEague matches, including official training, were charged 193,478 lei per event, the fee dropped to less than half, reaching 90,000 lei, as in the case of domestic championship matches.

In 2025, Craiova University played 4 home matches in European competitions: 4-0 with Sarajevo, 3-0 with Trnava, 3-1 with Başakşehir and 1-1 with Noah, the last one being played in the single group of the Conference League, while the other 3 were played in the preliminary campaign.

For Olteni, there are two more matches at home, with Mainz on November 27 and with Sparta Prague on December 11.

Thus, in 2025, the University of Craiova will spend 1,160,868 lei for the European matches played at home, the equivalent of approximately 230,000 euros, an amount that would be halved from next season if the Oltenians qualify again for a European competition.

In addition to the two remaining matches to be played at home in the Conference LEague, Olten will also have a trip to Athens against AEK. Craiova is in 20th place in the unique group of the Conference League, with 4 points collected in the first 3 stages.
