In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, at a railway crossing, a VAZ-2106 passenger car collided with a train locomotive, the State Traffic Inspectorate for the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported.
The accident occurred at the railway crossing at Kuragino station. A 17-year-old driver, moving from Lesnaya Street towards Vokzalnaya Street, drove onto the tracks in front of an approaching train. The traffic police noted that the crossing in this place is regulated, but the young driver violated the rules.
“The driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient and a collision could not be avoided. According to preliminary information, the driver of the car was injured as a result of the accident. The locomotive crew did not seek medical help. The incident did not affect the movement of other trains.», — explained the press service of the Krasnoyarsk Railway.
Traffic police officers are establishing the circumstances of the accident. Police warn that the railway crossing is still closed to traffic.
“Krasnoyarsk Railways urges drivers to be vigilant when crossing railway tracks and strictly follow traffic rules,” Krasnoyarsk Railways noted.
