Ludivic Orban declared, in a press conference, that, “he could not help criticizing the PSD for blocking decisions from the governing coalition, in which the decision to restructure the administration was delayed by at least a month”, according to News.
“I had no way not to criticize the PSD for the fact that they turned the prime minister of Romania, who is the prime minister they supported and appointed, based on a coalition agreement, into a punching bag and he started to gain electoral capital, trying to pretend that they are in opposition to Ilie Bolojan. I had no way not to criticize the decision of the four PSD judges at the Constitutional Court, who blocked the reform of magistrates' pensions. I had no way not to I speak publicly about the possibility of arriving at a given moment at a revision of the Constitution, so that we abolish special pensions, as a possible solution to achieve this objective that is desired by so many people”mentioned Orban.
“Regarding the relationship with USR, that is precisely why I evoked my withdrawal, in favor of the USR candidate, because I cannot imagine that those from USR could have put pressure on Nicusor Dan to be dismissed. I stood by USR, even if USR was not always fair to me. And they made it clear that when they were not fair to me, it did not go very well for them either good. We were in the United Right Alliance together, although we validated the participation in parliamentary elections on joint lists, in support of the candidate Elena Lasconi, and we were left with our eyes in the sun, a month before the elections, I withdrew in favor of Elena Lasconi for that I considered it a decision that is good for Romania. In addition, I had a relationship as fair and normal as possible with the USR leaders”he pointed out, about a pressure from the USR to be dismissed.
Ludovic Orban announced that he will continue the collaboration with Nicusor Dan.
“I really feel obliged to the Romanians whom I urged to vote with Nicusor Dan, so that the mandate of President Nicusor Dan is a mandate in which he can meet the expectations of those who voted for him, big or small, as a salvation for Romania. I will continue to advise him and give him advice, of course, as his lordship will wish, if he wishes in tete-a-tete discussions, if not, I will do it publicly because this has been my way throughout my career, to say publicly what I think and what I think is good for Romania”he pointed out.
Ludovic Orban showed that “a lot of people could suspect him that he's going to spite the president”.
“I don't begrudge the president. In a way, I have to admit that I feel liberated. I'm a man who wasn't very comfortable in the tight fit of the presidential suit, because I'm a man who always spoke my mind and often said things that were uncomfortable for the powerful of the day, taking personal risks when I felt it was necessary to say those things.“, he pointed out.
Ludovic Orban was dismissed on Tuesday from the position of advisor on internal policy to President Nicușor Dan.
“The decision was made in amicable terms. The President expresses his appreciation for the activity of Mr. Orban and wishes him success in future projects“, the Presidential Administration sent.
