Ilie Lemnaru, the president of Unirea Slobozia, announced the ambitions of his team in the current Super League season.

The team that barely saved itself from relegation last season set itself the same goal in the current season, staying in the first league. Lemnaru said that he doesn't even think that his team could fight for the presence in the play-offs.

Ilie Lemnaru, about the chances of Unirea Slobozia: “We are not a team that can fight for the play-offs at this moment”

“The first time it was the same goal, to stay in the first league. Now let's be fair, it's very difficult, even if last year we stayed and this year we got some experience, it's very, very difficult. It's a championship with very good teams, it's balanced.

We are what we expected, we are not a playoff contending team at the moment. It was that period when we didn't meet the big teams. We beat FCSB, but we didn't do it alone. I caught them in a more delicate moment for them. I think we could recover, with two victories… you saw what two victories mean”, said Ilie Lemnaru, according to sport.ro.
