VIDEO The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, explanations in Bucharest for “an expression out of context” to Romania: “Any regression worries us all very much”

The new Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Alexandru Munteanu, wanted to clarify on Thursday, at the Victoria Palace, a controversial statement he recently made in the Chisinau Parliament regarding the imbalances in the pension system in Romania. “Mr. Prime Minister, I recently had an expression out of context that generated many interpretations,” said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova in a joint statement with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

“I want you to know that Romania is so connected to our fate and we to Romania's fate that any success makes us happy and any setback worries us all very much. For many years in a row, especially since Romania joined the EU, we have followed with admiration and joy your progress, the pace with which the Romanian society was developing economically. Romania was a landmark for us and we rejoice together for it, and now in recent years we have also started to rejoice for the successes of Moldova”, declared the Moldovan Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu emphasized the fact that Romania has helped the Republic of Moldova many times.

“Our plan is to become a country that needs help, a state that will continue to contribute to regional security, to energy connectivity in this area, to European unity. With a constant helping hand from Romania, Moldova is building a road alongside the European states. We have a lot to do together and as we say: 'to more and to greater'”, said the Moldovan Prime Minister.

We want to expand cooperation. For us, the contract signed in the summer between Energocom and OMV Petrom, for accessing gas from Neptun Deep, is important. We invite companies on the Romanian market with experience in energy production and storage systems to participate in our tenders. We also expressed our intention to participate in the construction of the next block in Cernavodă”, he said, quoted by News.ro.
