The documentary consists of three episodes, so far the first one has been released.
It states that a commission of experts, which included, in particular, current pilots, found that the direct cause of the disaster was the human factor – piloting, and the main reason was improper flight organization.
“A separate investigation is underway against the pilot, who did not have permission to fly in such difficult meteorological conditions, and therefore had to postpone the departure time until later, when the fog cleared. However, perhaps not wanting to refuse the minister, he nevertheless agreed to carry out this flight,” says prosecutor Vadim Primachok.
Director of the State Bureau of Investigation Alexey Sukhachev noted that there are services responsible for aviation security.
“No matter who tells you, you must assess the risks. You are responsible for this, you are responsible for people’s lives,” he emphasized.
Context
Monastyrsky died on January 18, 2023, when a State Emergency Service helicopter with the minister on board fell and crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary. First Deputy Evgeny Enin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Lubkovich and six other people also flew with him. They all died.
In total, according to the State Emergency Service, 14 people died as a result of the plane crash, including one child. 25 people were injured, 11 of them children.
