In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, investigators are conducting an investigation into the death of a woman after an explosion of an aerosol canister to kill insects in an apartment in the third Privokzalny microdistrict of the city of Achinsk.
The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia reported that the explosion occurred on the evening of November 12. The canister was in the room near the thermostat and probably overheated, causing detonation.
The wall of the living space was destroyed, and the 71-year-old owner of the apartment herself received severe burns and barotrauma. The woman was taken to the hospital, but could not be saved – she died.
“In the apartment itself on the third floor, the windows were partially broken and the wall separating it from the neighboring apartment was destroyed, but the other apartments in the entrance were not damaged. At the time of the explosion, there was no one in the room except the victim,” the prosecutor’s office explained.
Employees of the investigative and operational group are working at the scene of the emergency. Once the review is completed, an appropriate procedural decision will be made.
