The “TRUMP” party was launched in Belgium. The name, inspired by the “ultimate symbol of populism”

A French-speaking far-right party in Belgium, which bears as an acronym the name of the current American president, was recently launched by the former leader of the Belgian National Front, local publication BRUZZ reported on Monday, according to Politico.
The founder of the TRUMP party described the US president as “the ultimate symbol of populism”.
“Donald Trump is the ultimate symbol of populism. He immediately embodies everything we stand for,” said Salvatore Nicotra.
TRUMP, an acronym for “Tous Réunis pour l'Union des Mouvements Populistes” (All united for the Union of Populist Movements), is the successor to the far-right Walloon parties Chez Nous and the Belgian National Front.
Unlike Flanders' Vlaams Belang, Belgium's largest far-right party, TRUMP does not promote separatism, Nicotra claims, and aims to run both federally and in the 2029 European Parliament elections.
“We are a right-wing populist party with a social bent,” he said.
Nicotra, who was a municipal councilor in the Saint-Gilles district of Brussels between 1994 and 2000, did not rule out the possibility of TRUMP also running in the Belgian capital or in other municipal elections.
All the founders are former members of the Belgian National Front. Among them is former Vlaams Belang member Emanuele Licari, who in 2024 was dropped from Vlaams Belang's list of candidates in the Brussels elections after the party said he openly glorified fascism.
