A 48-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk will be tried for stealing money on a large scale from his ex-wife’s bank card.
The crime was committed in August of this year, when the victim asked the accused to stay in her apartment during a business trip and look after their common son.

“The boy was using his mother’s old smartphone, which had a banking application installed on it. Knowing the password, the man logged in and saw that a credit card with a limit of 157 thousand rubles had been opened in the woman’s name. Within 6 days, he transferred 150 thousand rubles to his brokerage account with the hope of making money. However, he lost all this money,” the police said.
During the investigation, the Krasnoyarsk resident fully compensated the woman for the material damage caused. However, now he will face criminal liability under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for the following types of punishment: a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, or forced labor for up to 5 years, or imprisonment for up to 6 years.
