Cătălin Stănciulescu, vlogger known in the online environment as “BackPackYourLife”, visited the tourist complex built in Madagascar by Radu Mazăre, the former mayor of Constanta, paroled after 5 years in prison, in May 2024.
Radu Mazăre is one of the most controversial politicians in Romania's recent history. The former mayor of Constanța received a 9-year prison sentence, in the case of illegal land transfers and in the Polaris case, but was released on parole after 5 years.
“I am no longer interested in public life in any way,” Mazăre said at that time. In the meantime, he moved with his family to Madagascar. The tourist complex developed near the Indian Ocean was presented in a clip posted by the Romanian vlogger “BackPackYourLife”.

The 4-star hotel will soon have a pickleball court, a sport that is on the rise in the United States of America, where most tourists come from.
Madagascar is an island country in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. It has a population of approximately 32 million inhabitants, the capital being Antananarivo.
Cătălin Stănciulescu is a content creator, particularly active on YouTube, with over 673,000 followers.
I am very glad that my father found peace there, he was always attracted to peace and sports. He leaves again, but now I can FaceTime him anytime. I will also go there to visit. I stay here with my uncles, my mother and my girlfriend. I'm pretty busy here. Maybe I'll move there, but later. There is a much healthier lifestyle, including the food is healthier, it is without fertilizers. Dad will do tourism there. It has a hotel with bungalows. It is nothing extravagant, but it is something else, it is not an all inclusive hotel
