Din Priviri, a Nemira volume of unfiltered inspiration, signed by Mihaela Nicola

The volume of essays and photography “Din Priviri”
The Nemira publishing house launched on Wednesday, November 5, at the Cărturesti Verona bookstore, the volume of essays and photography “Din Priviri”, under the signature of communication professional Mihaela Nicola. The fifth title of the author proposes an unprecedented collection of “flirty texts and barefoot photos”, built in the form of a journey in a personal key among thoughts, states, places and feelings.
The images included in this volume were presented in the personal exhibition “Photographs that did not appear on Instagram”, opened in 2021 at the Cornel Forea Galleries and curated by Damian Florea. The texts associated with the photographs are designed as a reflective adagio in a minimalist key, leading the reader through revelations about secrets, marriage, bitter cherries, mathematics, geopolitics and Amandine. The author records with grace and humor the common places that follow us with fatality, but also the features that make us remarkable. The red thread of the collection follows a recurrent, unexpected character, which the author proposed as a delicate frond to the self-centered images that dominate the current landscape of communication on social networks.
“Mihaela Nicola claims through this volume a different kind of look, one freed from the temptation of the face and perfection. From the looks, she continues and develops here one of the author's favorite themes, travel, combining irony and sarcasm with the tenderness of personal or apparently personal evocations. The text-thought is both a conclusion and an open door to reflection, to a tireless search for meaning that is always, in today's world, on the border between reality and projection, between appearance and essence“, said Ana Lotts-Nicolau, general director of the Nemira publishing house.
Mihaela Nicola is the CEO of the communication company TheGroup, author of the volumes of essays “On heels” – Nemira, 2007 and “With gloves” – Humanitas, 2009, coordinator of collaborative volumes in the field of strategic communication and innovation, as well as author of a series of articles on topical issues, hosted by premium publications in Romania. This year, The Group celebrated two decades of activity: “Beyond advertising, communication is inspiration. This is what I want to gain from the volume that we are proposing to you today. The images and gendurance from the book have no filters of any kind, neither photographic nor self-imposed, they evoke genuine states and spontaneous observations, without further interventions. From Priviri is a plea for the authenticaccompanied and probably conditioned by good thoughts and nuanced understandings” the author also stated.
launching From Looks moreover, it took place in the same original key as the volume itself, in the form of an atypical brunch at the bookstore, an opportunity for free conversation, exchange of ideas and the joy of rediscovering aphorisms.
