University of Craiova and Rapid ended the derby that closed the regular season round in the SuperLiga with a score of 2-2. The Oltenians snatched a point in the 90th + 10th minute, thanks to a penalty validated after VAR intervention.
Midfielder Alexandru Cicâldău (28 years old) was one of Craiova's most active players, being close to scoring twice, once after an intervention by the goalkeeper Aioani, and the second time when Pașcanu miraculously rejected from the goal line.

At the end of the game, the Romanian midfielder admitted that Craiova University played a solid game and that the result could have been different:
“I think we deserved the win, the way we played today, especially in the first half. We had clear opportunities, we put pressure on the opponent and even if we conceded a goal, we managed to equalize.
I want to stick with the positives after this game.
After all, it's just an equal. We must also analyze what did not go well, but continue with the same attitude. I hope that in the future we will take all three points.”
The 28-year-old midfielder also emphasized the fact that the team is going through a busy but motivating period:
“It could have been better in the last period in terms of results, but let's not forget what we achieved in Europe.
It's not a small thing. We play every three days and we enjoy these matches, because they motivate us a lot.”
Ranking situation
After this result, Rapid Bucharest temporarily maintains the first position, with 32 points after 15 stages. The University of Craiova remains in 3rd place, just three points behind Giulești.
Alexandru Cicâldău, returned last year from Galatasaray, is quoted at 2.5 million euros according to the specialized website Transfermarkt.
