An explosion followed by a fire took place on Saturday, around 12:00, in a block of flats in Timisoara. Approximately 60 people self-evacuated, and one man suffered burns on 30-40% of his body, ISU Timiş reported, quoted by News.ro

The block where the explosion followed by the fire took place is on Strada Cerna in Timisoara. The fire occurred on the ground floor of an apartment, according to ISU Timiş.

Firefighters from Detachment 1 Timişoara went to the scene with two fire trucks with water and foam, a mechanical ladder truck and three SMURD crews, one of them with a doctor.

“As a result of the event, there was a male victim with first and second degree burns on approximately 30-40%. He is taken over by the medical crew in a conscious and cooperative state”, stated the quoted source.

Following the explosion, approximately 60 people safely evacuated themselves.

For now, there is no information about the cause of the explosion.
