Danger of floods in half of the country, including in the already affected areas. Alerts issued by hydrologists

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management has issued an update of the hydrological codes, in the context of the weather forecast and the current hydrological situation and warns the risk of floods in 20 counties in Oltenia, Muntenia, Transilvania and Moldova.

Thus, an orange flood code is valid on July 31, between 06:00 – 16:00 and targets rivers from the counties: Gorj, Sibiu, Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Ilfov and Ialomița, in the river basins Jiu, Olt, Olteț, Argeș, Ialoma

A yellow flood code concerns, on July 30, between 12:00 and 24:00, rivers from Bistrița-Năsăud, Alba, Cluj, Harghita, Mureș, Brașov, Sibiu, Suceava and Neamț counties.

Also, between July 30, at 12:00 – July 31, at 24:00, the phenomena will manifest in Hunedoara, Gorj, Harghita, Covasna, Brașov, Vâlcea, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Ilfov, Ialomița and Buzău.

“In this context, the population in the targeted areas is asked to permanently follow the official information transmitted by the competent authorities, to avoid crossing the watercourses through forests, bridges or improvised bridges, not to carry out activities near the rivers under the warnings and to comply with all the recommendations issued by the local authorities, People in areas exposed to the risk of floods to protect their goods and prepare for any preventive evacuations, if necessary, ”mentioned in an inhga statement, quoted by Agerpres.
