A Krasnoyarsk resident was fined 50 thousand for staging a theft so as not to go to the store with his wife

The court fined a resident of Krasnoyarsk 50 thousand rubles for staging the theft of his own car. According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 24-year-old man resorted to deception in order to avoid a shopping trip with his wife.

Let us remind you that in April the owner of a Toyota Corona left the car on Rest Island and reported it stolen. At the scene, police found damage: a broken ignition switch and signs of an attempt to open the trunk.

First, a criminal case was opened for unlawful taking of a car. However, during the investigation, police officers doubted the testimony of the owner of the car. Despite the warning about liability for false denunciation, the man continued to insist on the theory of theft.

An additional check confirmed that the owner left the car intentionally. The Sverdlovsk District Court found the Krasnoyarsk man guilty of knowingly false denunciation and sentenced him to a fine.
