The ultras of the UTA Arad team announced through social networks that they will boycott the match with Petrolul Ploiești in the Romanian Cup, scheduled for October 30 at 5:00 p.m.
The reason? UTA Arad fans are unhappy with the ticket prices. The fans of “Bătrânei Doamne” are dissatisfied with the fact that subscribers have to pay a ticket for the Romanian Cup matches, but also with the fact that a ticket on the lawn costs 50 lei. The prices are the same as for the Superliga, but the supporters, who do not have the best relationship with the club's management, have decided to take a stand.
A ticket in the Aradenian lawn is 50 lei, a ticket in the second stand is 70 lei, and in the first stand 90 lei. For children under 13 the prices are half.
The press release from Ultras Arad: “All we ask for is RESPECT”
Ultras Arad announced that they will only boycott the Romanian Cup match, but will later return to the “Iosif Petschovsky” lawn for the match against Metaloglobus scheduled for November 2, from 15:30. The radical fans also urged all supporters to follow suit.
“We, the members of the groups that make up Ultras Arad, want to announce that we will not enter the stadium for the Romanian Cup match between UTA and Petrolul, scheduled for Thursday, due to the exaggerated ticket prices imposed for this game.
We consider it defiant and unacceptable that a ticket to the lawn costs 50 lei or, in the case of the stands, 70 or even 90 lei, especially in the current context, where a large part of the UTA team's budget is supported by the money of the people of Arad, through the funds allocated annually by the Arad City Hall. The subscribers were also wronged in this case, as they had to purchase tickets for the Romanian Cup matches, even though they fully showed their loyalty to the club and should have benefited from a complete package, guaranteeing them access to all the matches this season.
We want to be clear: through this gesture, we do not give up supporting the team. We will be back on the lawn for future matches! We cannot leave the Old Lady to suffer in these difficult moments that have left us with a bitter taste, but we can no longer overlook the mockery of the Utists. We have demonstrated countless times that we are willing to make any sacrifice for UTA. The proof is also last night's trip from Bucharest, from the National Arena, where we were present at our own expense, as always.
All we ask for is RESPECT: respect for the fans who have always been in the stadium, regardless of the weather, results or distances.
UTA means Arad! This club breathes thanks to the supporters, passionate and soulful people who have been grossly taken advantage of in recent years. Time to raise the alarm about this! Regardless of where you sit in the stadium, we hope you'll take a stand with us this time if you're fed up with the way we're being treated by the club's management! For years we have supported the team with everything we can, and all we have received in return are lies, disappointing results and increasingly inflated Champions League prices.
For us only UTA matters, you only care about money!“, those from UTA Arad sent through a press release on Facebook.
The UTA athlete is not doing very well either. After a very good start to the championship, the team led by Adrian Mihalcea has not found victory in 7 matches, the last success being recorded against Steaua, score 2-0, a game that ensured their tickets to the Romanian Cup.
