Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan revealed, on Digi24, that the allowances of some directors of transport companies have increased by 40-50% and nominated three such institutions, namely Mihail Kogălniceanu and Otopeni airports, as well as Romatsa.
“I looked just today and yesterday at the allowances of some company directors, because what did I do? After this law appeared, which refers, it's true, to the future, from this package, I had another lever to ask about the health of the directors, we have to approve their budgets. And I looked at three companies, for example, in the transport area, at Kogălniceanu Airport, at Otopeni Airport and I think at Romatsa. They exploded management allowances. They are quite robust amounts and they increased them by 40-50%”, said Ilie Bolojan, quoted by News.ro.
The allowances of the members of the TAROM Board of Directors have been doubled
The prime minister said that they took advantage of the fact that the law cannot impose a reduction in allowances for managers of state-owned companies who already had signed management contracts.
Ilie Bolojan, about the tensions with the PSD: “Any coalition will end up with its back against the wall if it does not take these decisions” / “My goal is not to be prime minister under any conditions”
“Do you think they have reduced them? No, they prefer to stay at the limit until you can no longer block their budgets, they are not interested in that, instead of returning to some decent allowance values. And if the law can no longer force them, maybe common sense could force them or the ministry to put pressure on them, because they are actually defying the people”, said Bolojan.
He explained that there is no direct link between the performance of a director of such a company and salary.
“And then a man who works from morning to night, in the public sector, in the private sector, when he sees that some are spinsters, solves such things that simply when you have monopoly-type services, you actually make income, it's not a problem. So there is no direct link between your performance and salary. Then he abused certain provisions that were before, look where it brings us. And this type of thing must be corrected”, he also declared Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
