Over 94 percent of heat pump models do not meet the applicable requirements – 32 out of 34 – according to this year's inspections carried out by the National Tax Administration (KAS) in cooperation with the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and the Trade Inspection (IH).

Customs and Tax Service officers from customs departments throughout the country, as part of inspections of heat pumps imported from third countries, together with IH inspectors, verified whether they had correctly prepared: energy efficiency labels, product information sheets, technical documentation, markings, declaration of conformity.
As a result of the inspection, 37 applications regarding 1,241 devices were submitted to the Inspectorate. In the case of 27 applications, IH found that 786 heat pumps (63.3%) did not meet the requirements. In the remaining 10 applications, IH confirmed compliance with the applicable requirements of 455 devices (36.7%).
This year, 34 models were inspected, of which 32 did not meet the requirements (over 94%). Last year, the services inspected a total of 36 heat pump models, of which 34 did not meet the requirements.
– The results of this year's inspection show that we effectively identify and eliminate from the market products that do not meet EU requirements. Protecting the domestic market against non-compliant products is our priority. As data from this year's activities show, we still detect a disturbingly high percentage of non-compliance – emphasized the head of KAS, Marcin Łoboda.
The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, Tomasz Chróstny, emphasized that there is no place on the market for products that do not meet the requirements. – That's why we want to eliminate them as quickly as possible. Thanks to joint activities at the border, the heat pumps in which we detected irregularities will not be sold to Polish consumers at all – he added. (PAP)
