SuperLiga: Cristiano Bergodi, excited after signing with Cluj University: “I'm tired of staying at home”

Cristiano Bergodi, the new coach of the Cluj University team, spoke about his return to the technical bench of a team from Romania.

Arriving for the first time in our country in 2005, the Italian technician also trained FC Național, CFR Cluj, Rapid, FCSB, Poli Iași, ASA Târgu Mureș, FC Voluntari, Universitatea Craiova and Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe.

“I adapt according to the characteristics of the players. If a player has quality, I try to build something for him, a game system. I want to do my job as well as I can. I'm very happy, believe me! I have motivation, enthusiasm and I'm here to restore the team. The players are the main actors, they enter the field.

I'm going to talk to the players, I haven't had time yet. I am optimistic, we have a good group, it must be united. I'm excited, the players have to feel that a coach has come. I'm not saying now that Sabău wasn't a coach, hats off to him! Those who follow me, fine, those who don't, stay outside, no problem.

I want to perform, I'm tired of staying at home. I want to do something special here and I have to show the players that I have enthusiasm. The objective is to play well, to have a solid game”, said Bergodi, during his presentation at U Cluj.

Bergodi was left without a team in April 2024 when he parted ways with Rapid. He arrived at Cluj University at a time when the Transylvanian group is in 10th place in the SuperLiga, with 14 points after 13 stages.
