There is no need to change the rules for my participation, I did not visit the aggressor country

“I want to share with you exciting news – I am applying for national selection. For my participation, you don’t even need to change the generally accepted rules, since I have not visited the aggressor country,” she wrote.

The singer responded in this way to a recent statement by her colleague Olya Polyakova, who said that she also wants to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2026. The artist also demanded that the organizers of the national selection change the rules that prohibit those singers from participating in the competition who, like her, performed in the aggressor country of the Russian Federation after 2014.

In particular, Polyakova was the host of the award on the Russian propaganda channel Ru.Tv in 2015. Her co-host then was Russian singer Nikolai Baskov, who in 2022 supported Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

In a commentary to TSN in 2015, the singer stated that she had an excellent relationship with the Russian channel.

“I was the main character of a reality show on the music channel Ru.Tv, which the audience really liked. And now the channel, with which we have an excellent relationship, invited me to become a co-host of the ceremony, because they wanted humor, creativity, wit in reprises and they got it,” she said. “Artists in Russia are too serious and not everyone is ready for bold impromptu and self-irony. Therefore, the choice channel fell on me. So let's teach them to laugh at themselves. This will be useful to them.”

What is SoloKhi's song about?

“The song will be in my signature style – cheerful and bright, like a real SoloKha. I think that for me to get onto the longlist, just listening to it is enough,” said the artist.
