Romania is the vice-champion of Europe in table tennis. Germany, too tough for the tricolor sportswomen

The Romanian women's table tennis team won the continental silver at the European Championship held in Zadar, Croatia. Our girls' sixth consecutive final ended 3-0 in favor of Germany, just like the last edition in 2023.

The tricolors manage to finish third in the second continental ranking, performances that were also achieved in the 2023 (Malmo) and 2021 (Cluj-Napoca) editions. The last time the tricolors won the European title was in 2019, in Nantes.
After a remarkable journey – with Wales (3-0) and Luxembourg (3-1), in the group stage, with Serbia (3-2), Slovakia (3-0) and the Netherlands (3-0) -, Romania met Germany in the final. Bernadette Szocs opened the last act in an intense duel with Annett Kaufmann. The two players shared their moments of dominance, offering a show full of intensity, tactical variety and powerful shots. Despite the remarkable effort, Bernadette lost in the deciding set, writes FRTM.
Samara and Dragoman, no reply
Elizabeta Samara then entered the table, against Sabine Winter. The Romanian managed to get back into the game in the third set and tried to impose her rhythm with decisive shots, but Germany took the score to 2-0. The fate of the final was decided in the confrontation between Andreea Dragoman and Nina Mittelham. After a balanced start, the tricolor forced a comeback in the third set, but it was not enough, and the match ended 3-1 in favor of the opponent, thus establishing the hierarchy on the European podium.
