A military-patriotic forum “Let's Preserve Traditions!” was held in Krasnoyarsk. Let's defend our homeland!” It was dedicated to Conscript Day and held at the Univers gymnasium.
250 high school students took part. The mayor's office noted that there were not enough seats for everyone in the school assembly hall; teenagers took seats in the aisles. Veterans – participants of the Northern Military District, veterans of local conflicts in Afghanistan and the Chechen Republic – spoke to the children. They talked about brotherhood in battle and mutual assistance, about how in difficult times the feeling of a comrade’s shoulder becomes more important than any weapon.
“Such forums are necessary for our youth. They foster love for the Motherland and a sense of belonging. When people unite in difficult moments and rejoice at success together, this gives rise to pride in the country and strengthens our unity,” Alexey Gladyshev, a veteran of the Northern Military District, holder of the Order of Courage, addressed the participants.
Future conscripts were told about assistance to the families of Northern Military District soldiers and explained what payments are available and how to get psychological support. At interactive locations, volunteers from the “Good With Your Own Hands” workshop taught children how to weave tactical bracelets for soldiers. The teenagers themselves tried to make “Leshy” camouflage suits.
The Siberian Spiders club organized a master class on weaving anti-drone nets. At one of the locations, schoolchildren were able to get acquainted with the modern equipment and weapons of the Russian Guard fighters.
Particular attention was paid to 20 recruits during the forum. A concert with patriotic songs was organized for them. These are the guys who will go to serve in the autumn conscription.
“I decided to join the army because I believe that every young man should have a sense of duty to the Motherland. We are obliged to defend our country,” says Andrey Uryvaev, conscript.
In a solemn atmosphere, each conscript received a small gift from the Oktyabrsky district administration – a practical thermal mug that will keep you warm when away from home. Warm words of encouragement from forum participants were added to the useful souvenirs.
The finale of the event was a patriotic quiz. The teenagers demonstrated knowledge of dates and events in the history of their native country.
