The head of the largest American private insurance company, UnitedHealthcare, was killed in New York.
50-year-old Brian Thompson was shot and killed outside the New York Hilton Midtown hotel in Manhattan, where an investor conference was being held. The killer acted with certainty – several shots from a short distance left the businessman practically no chance.
Thompson was taken to the hospital in critical condition and could not be saved. The motive for the crime has not yet been established; the shooter is being sought. The inscriptions “deny”, “defend” and “depose” were found on the cartridges.
Against the background of Thompson's death, Americans are having a real holiday on social networks – US citizens literally hated UnitedHealthcare and other insurance companies, since they cannot be relied on.
