A resident of Kansk kept the phone he found and received a year of forced labor.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a 36-year-old resident of Kansk received another criminal conviction for appropriating a lost cell phone.
The gadget fell out of the owner’s pocket when he was riding a bicycle past one of the city’s bus stops and, on the way up the hill, could not resist and fell. The man discovered the loss only at home and contacted law enforcement officers.
“Within 24 hours, the police established the entire picture of the incident. As it turned out, an attacker who had previously been convicted of property crimes found a smartphone on the ground near the bus pavilion and decided to take it. Using the method of selecting a graphic key, he managed to unlock the phone and delete all existing data on it,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The mobile phone was seized and returned to its rightful owner. And the attacker was convicted under Part 2 of Art. 158 “Theft” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to one year of forced labor. During this period he will be attracted To paid work in places determined by the bodies of the penal system, with deduction of a certain amount from his salary (from 5 to 20%).
