October 10 16:00

In Krasnoyarsk, the improvement of four streets in the historical center of the city is being completed. This was reported to the mayor's office.

Asphalt is being laid on 9 January Street. The bottom layer has already been laid in the block from Lenin Street to Mira Avenue, and now specialists are installing wells. In the block from Karl Marx Street to Mira Avenue, several types of work are being carried out at once – skating rinks, bobcats, asphalt pavers are working on the roadway, teams of landscapers are actively planting large trees, paving stones are being laid on the sidewalks.

9 January Street is one of four transverse streets of the historical center where landscaping is being completed this season. Work is also underway on Karatanov, Perenson and Dzerzhinsky streets. Their appearance has already changed dramatically. The main goal is to make these streets modern and comfortable, primarily for walking. The work is being carried out as part of the city's preparation for the 400th anniversary.

“New lighting has already been installed on the streets, all wires and cables have been removed underground. Workers laid granite side stones. Also, for the first time, all descents to pedestrian crossings were made of granite. On the sidewalks there are paving stones of various formats, which divide them into zones – adjacent, technical, pedestrian, and landscaping zones. There is a lot of greenery at the facilities. All the trees are large,” explained the press service of the city administration.

To speed up the pace of work, traffic on Karatanova Street is completely blocked. In the block from Karl Marx Street to Mira Avenue, paving stones have already been laid. From Lenin Street to Mira Avenue, the laying of paving stones continues.

In addition to the improvement, a lot of work was done on the networks on 9 January and Karatanova streets this season – they completely replaced worn out pipelines. The streets are located in a special historical zone, so the work was also combined with archaeological research.

On Perenson Street, paving stones already lie along almost the entire length of the sidewalks from Dubrovinsky Street to Markovsky Street. In most areas it was covered with sand to fill the joints. On the roadway on the side of Ada Lebedeva Street, an island was installed to separate flows when turning, new asphalt was laid, and trees and shrubs were planted. New lighting has already started working here.

The landscaping on Dzerzhinsky Street is almost complete. All that remains is to install bins and benches. Workers will begin this work next week.
