The French photojournalist Antoni Lallican died in Donbas in the drone attack

Lallican, who lived in Paris, carried out an order in Donbas for a photojournalist agency Hans Lucas based in Carcassonne. His works were published in many media, among others in “Le Monde”, “Le Figaro”, “Libération”, “Mediapart”, “Der Spiegel”, “Die Zeit”, “Die Welt”, “Le Temps”, “Der Standard”, “La Presse”.

In March 2022, just after the start of Russia's full -glass invasion, he went to this country, documenting the effects of war. In January this year he won the Victor Hugo Prize for Committed Photography 2024 award for the photojournalism “Suddenly the Sky Darkened” (“Suddenly the sky darkened”), dedicated to the war in Ukraine. According to EFJ, he is the 17th journalist who was killed in Ukraine from the beginning of the Russian assault in February 2022.
