Caio Ferreira and Bogdan Andone won the trophies for the player and coach of September 2025 + rankings
Caio Ferreira (24 years old) and Bogdan Andone (50 years old) awarded their prizes for the player, respectively the coach of September. These are the first trophies that the two win in the “Best” project, after a month in which the Pitesti did not lose in the superlig.
For the trophy “Player of August”, Gazeta nominated 5 footballers: Cio Ferreira (FC Argeș), Christ Afalna (Unirea Slobozia), Eduard Pap (Csikszereda), Mykola Kovtalyuk (FC Botosani) and Alexandru Musi (Dinamo).
Caio Ferreira won for the first time the “Player of the Moon” award
The winner of September 2025 was appointed, for the first time, Cio Ferreira, the Brazilian player of FC Argeș.
Caio was the main fire mouth of Pitesti in September, with solid and appreciated developments, including MVP in the match with Hermannstadt. He scored both against UTA Arad and the team from Sibiu.
On the preliminary list were: Lorenzo Biliboc (CFR Cluj), Hervin Ongea (FC Botosani), Lars Kramer (Rapid) and Alexandru Mitriță (Zhejiang).
Bogdan Andone, premiere in the project “Best”
At the second category, “the coach of the month”, the newspaper nominated 3 technicians: Bogdan Andone (FC Argeș), Andrei Prepeliță (Unirea Slobozia) and Leo Grozavu (FC Botosani).
The winner was chosen Bogdan Andone, who becomes the second coach of the “vultures” winning the “coach of the moon”, after awarded him by Andrei Prepeliță in November 2021.
FC Argeș came from Liga 2, but was not scared of the “dragon” from the Superliga. Even though the start was more cumbersome, the “Vultures” Pitesti adapted perfectly to Andone's style and in the first league and are now at the top of the standings.
The victories at the limit with U Cluj and Hermannstadt, plus a spectacular equal, 3-3, with UTA Arad are the results of September of the Pitesti band, which has not lost since August 11.
On the preliminary list were: Zeljko Kopic (Dinamo), Cristi Chivu (Inter), Florin Maxim (Corvinul) and Erik Lincar (FC Bihor).

How to vote for the “player of the month” and “coach of the moon”
The algorithm used to establish the winners is a very simple one. The GSP editorial is the nominations, based on statistics and clear performance figures, then vote 3 categories: GSP.ro readers, editorial journalists and five specialists (former footballers or important coaches), which change from one month to another. The first ranked in each top receives 5 points, the one on the 2nd place, 4 points, etc. GSP editorial vote matters double.
