Although before the election in 2023, the head of PO Donald Tusk announced the loosening of the drug law, in the Sejm a special team was working on it, the rulers sent a significant letter to the village: there will be no liberalization – we read on Thursday's “Rzeczpospolita”.

Thursday “RZ” cites fragments from the government's response to the Dezyderat Committee on Petitions on the remadealization of having small amounts of marijuana, or hemp bush for their own use:
The currently applicable provisions of the Act on counteracting drug addiction are used to reduce the spread of drugs among adolescents and adults. Examples of other countries indicate that drug legalization, even to an incomplete, can lead to an increase in the number of addictions and health and social problems – we read.
“The government writes clearly in it – there will be no liberalization of drug law in this term. And so a strong position is received in the Sejm with a surprise. Although the liberalization of drug law was not a particularly strong postulate before the election in 2023, signals came from the ruling coalition that it could occur ” – notes the newspaper.
As we read, the Dezyderat on the liberalization of drug law sent the Sejm petition commission to the government in February. As reported, the government was signed by Deputy Minister of Justice Arkadiusz Myrcha, who collaborated with the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Ministry of Health. As Rzeczpospolita writes, the deputy minister “deals in detail with the postulate of the department of having 15 grams for his own use” and presents seven extensive arguments against. (PAP)
