The political career of Choe Ryong Hae began in the 1970s, when he worked as a political instructor on behalf of the Korea Workers' Party at the University of Kim Ir Sen. Choe is one of the most trusted people of the regime, including due to the origin. His father fought with whom Ir Sen in an anti -Japanese partisan, and after the Korean war he became the Minister of National Defense.
However, in the 1990s he fell into disgrace of the regime. The portal dealing with North Korea, Nkleadershipwatch.org, reminds that in 1993 it was “because of the disease” dismissed from most of the positions held.

Both were only transferred to other positions.
