Prime Minister: The average fee for the nursery has dropped ten times. This is the result of the “active parent” program

Thanks to the program, an active parent monthly fee for nursery has fallen tenfold; Every day, two care facilities are created on average – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Friday. He also added that still over 800 municipalities in Poland do not offer any places of care for the youngest children.

At a press conference, the prime minister emphasized that the active parent program “exceeded some original frames and intentions” and thanks to it new places of care in nurseries are created, and parents pay ten times less than before.

Tusk pointed out that before the program came into force, an average of 1,000 cost a place in the nursery. PLN, and currently it is below PLN 100. He added that on average two care facilities are being created per day.

– There are still over 800 municipalities in Poland waiting for a nursery or other facility looking after children from 1 to 3 (years – PAP). There is still a lot of work ahead of us – the prime minister pointed out.

He emphasized that family programs, such as 800 plus and an active parent, “make up the largest family support program in Europe with children.” – Nowhere in Europe there is this help so developed (…) as in Poland. But this is still not enough to get young people to start a family and have children. We still have a demographic problem, so now it's time for a child and a family to become very fashionable. We do a lot to make motherhood, paternity, starting a family not involve any financial and organizational ailments – said the head of government.

He added that it is also important to believe that the child will not cause deterioration of material status.

The deputy minister of the family informed that 636,000 are covered by nursery support. kids. She added that since the entry into force of the program, the active parent, nursery care appeared in 286 municipalities where she was not before. This – as she pointed out – 37,000 new places.

– Behind each of these numbers stands a specific story – babysitters involved in the development of children, children who can develop in a group of peers, but above all parents who have a sense of security and stability – said Gajewska.

Who is the “active parent” for?

The active parent program started on October 1, 2024 and includes three benefits for parents of children from 12 to 35 months of age.

The benefit “Active parents at work” is activated. It is due in a situation if both parents are professionally active and the title of this activity are subject to retirement and disability insurance from the base, which is total, i.e. both parents, the amount is not less than 100 percent. minimum remuneration for work.

The second benefit – “actively in the nursery” – replaces the current funding of up to PLN 400 to a fee for staying in children's care institutions up to three years old. The benefit is addressed to parents of children who use a nursery, a children's club or a daily guardian. The support is up to PLN 1,500 per month per child or up to PLN 1,900 per month for a child with disabilities, if he has an appropriate disability certificate. The benefit does not cover the cost of food.

The third benefit – “actively at home” – is entitled to the same principles as family care capital. New is the possibility of obtaining money for each – including the first and only child – from the age of 12 to the age of 35 months. The benefit is PLN 500 per month for two years. In this case, parents must choose whether they retain the so -called Rights acquired for family care capital, which is paid from a second child, or want to use the benefit “actively at home”. (PAP)
