The meeting was started by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. During the first morning session, the chairwoman of the General Assembly also delivered, the former head of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Annnale Baerbock, and the leaders are the first to traditionally appear by the President of Brazil, which has been a practice since 1955.

The speech of Karol Nawrocki was scheduled for 23 o'clock from Tuesday to Wednesday. However, it was delayed by more than two hours and the Polish president went out to the rostrum several minutes after 1 am.

– I like and appreciate all languages, and the most Polish, so let me give my speech in my native language – Nawrocki began in English. – I stand here for the first time as the president of Poland and I feel great pride for this – he emphasized.

Russia refuses subjectivity to other nations

Then he drew attention to Russian aggression to Ukraine, which disturbed international order. – International law began to be treated as a suggestion, not a rule. After the outbreak of war, Poles and Poles opened their hearts and houses for Ukrainians and Ukrainians. We are standing at the HISTORY turning point, and today's world is a battlefield for principles. This is the last moment to take specific actions. Russian aggression is not a local conflict. It is a test of whether UN rules will give way to Russia's aspirations – a state that recognizes that it can stand above the law – said Nawrocki clearly.

He emphasized that “Russia refuses subjectivity to other nations.” – We in Poland, in Europe for over 80 years – referred to the contemporary history of relations with Russia, the President of Poland.

According to Nawrocki, “Russia has never abandoned its imperial aspirations.” – It was perfectly understood by my great predecessor, Polish president Lech Kaczyński, when he spoke in Georgia in 2008 “And we also know that today Georgia, tomorrow Ukraine, the day after tomorrow, the Baltic State, and then maybe time for my country, Poland!” – Nawrocki recalled the words of Lech Kaczyński.

He also recalled the latest events in the history of Poland. – Two weeks ago, the airspace of my country violated the drones at the order of the leader of the state, who is a permanent member of the Security Council. For the first time since World War II, the Polish army had to open fire in defense of my homeland. Poles were not scared of the Soviets, they will not be afraid of Russian drones – emphasized Nawrocki.

Pulling Russia to be responsible must be our common duty

The President of Poland appealed for the settlement of guilty wars, aggression and suffering. – There is no consent for Russia to intimidate European societies. Our consent is not. A durable room cannot be built on rewarding aggression. We cannot agree to violation of territorial integrity. Dialogue declarations are accompanied by attacks on defenseless civilians – he said.

– Righting Russia must be our common duty, and the perpetrators of all crimes must be judged. I hope that this will happen, and we will not meet for the next years and discuss. No wars, no wars, no wars can pay off to aggressors – he said.

He also reminded the tragic events of the 20th century – countries deserve full compensation from those who caused war. Also World War II – Nawrocki appealed, referring to his declarations about the need to pay reparations of Poland by Germany.

“The world must stand on the side of those who are denied a sense of security”

He emphasized that every nation has the right to self -defense, but this must take into account humanitarian principles. – The eyes of the world and ours are also turned to the Middle East today. Poland follows the situation in this region with concern, where as a result of the brutal attacks of Hamas of October 7, 2023, the conflict escalated. Israel, like any other state, has the right to self -defense. However, the actions he undertakes must be in line with international law, including humanitarian – he talked about the situation in the Middle East. “The world must stand on the side of all those who are denied a sense of security,” said the president of Poland.

He also appealed for a change in priorities in European policy and respect for human life. – I agree with President Trump that Europe has plunged into an ideological scarf, which led to migration madness, madness of green order. Our friends from the West for many years subsidized the Russian Federation, buying cheap Russian gas – he explained.

– We must defend our lives from natural conception to natural death. We demand one of the groups most persecuted in the world. About Christians – said Nawrocki. – We are standing at the turning point of history. The decisions made today will have an impact on the next decades – concluded the President of Poland.

Karol Nawrocki, after participating in the general debate of this session, will participate in a welcome party, issued by US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump.
