US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that NATO countries should break down Russian aircraft that violate their air space, following three incursions made by drones or Russian fighter jets in the territory of the Alliance in less than two weeks, writes Agerpres.

“Yes, I think yes”, The US President answered this question, addressed to the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York:

He spoke on the occasion of a meeting with the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. “We have a lot of respect for the way Ukraine is fighting, ” He added the 79 -year -old Republican, whose relationship with the Ukrainian leader has not always been so positive.

Donald Trump said he granted “One month” Before deciding if he trusted Vladimir Putin, which he has so far failed to convince to cease hostilities.

He also asked the European countries to cease “immediate” Russian oil purchases. Donald Trump also threatened to impose hard sanctions to Russia if the conflict continues.

In a letter sent two weeks ago to NATO members, Trump told them that Washington would not impose new Moscow sanctions as long as some allies continue to buy Russian oil.

Within the EU, Hungary and Slovakia, exactly the countries with the nearest ideological governments, continue to import Russian oil, as they have no exit and can be more difficult to supply other sources, while most of the other EU countries have ceased to buy oil from Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski rejects any transfer of territories to Russia, who, on his side, rejects any troops from NATO as a security guarantee for Ukraine, and the latter European allies still provide all the support if the war continues.
