According to representatives of the concern in response to the questions asked by PAP, the reason for suspension of the investment are Forecasts related to slower than originally assumed, an increase in the demand for heat pumps.

“Therefore, the Bosch Group decided to suspend the construction of the heat pump factory in Dobromierz in Lower Silesia. The plant was to complement the existing production network of Bosch heat pumps in Europe, which includes factories in Portugal, Germany and Sweden” – confirmed the corporate communication manager of the Bosch group in Poland Magdalena Kołomańska.

She added that this technology remains crucial for Bosch to achieve European climate goals on the construction market, but in the face of market forecasts, the concern abstained with the decision regarding the construction of the factory.

“The growing political and economic uncertainty in Europe negatively affects the European heat pump market. It is expected that its growth will be slower than previously assumed,” explained Kołomańska.

The company's representatives also expressed the belief that the demand for heat pumps will be strengthened in the future due to the need to achieve established climate goals, and when this happens, the plans for the new plant will be analyzed again.

In 2023, the Bosch company informed about the plans to build the factory. According to the intentions, the heat pump factory was to be built in Dobromierz in the Świdnica poviat, in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone WSSE Invest-Park. Production at the new plant was to start at the turn of 2025 and 2026. The investor assured that by 2027 500 jobs would be built in the factory.
