“We decided to write our son from the classes of” health education “. Under the innocent -sounding name of this subject, it is trying to smuggle ideology and politics to Polish schools, and this cannot be permission,” President Karol Nawrocki wrote on Saturday evening.

In his post he emphasized that “school is primarily a place of study, but also a space for building respect for culture, traditions and Christian values from which our civilization arises.” “In the first place, we, parents, have the right to decide on the education of our children and this is the moment when it is worth using this right” – noted Nawrocki.

The Minister of Education Barbara Nowacka referred to his entry. “Mr. President. Before you write down, veto, sign or indignant, really, it's worth reading documents!” – she wrote on Platform X.

She added that in this case specifically – you should read the core curriculum for “health education”. “Especially the Lord should take care of the health of children and social trust to teachers who convey knowledge wisely and sensitively. And this knowledge about counteracting addictions, prevention, movement, mental health and building relationships, respect for the other person – this is also this subject – it will be useful to everyone” – emphasized Nowacka.

Health education is a subject that this school year replaced family life education. It is taught in primary schools in grades IV-VIII (in one hour a week in each of these classes, with classes in grade VIII only in the first semester) and in secondary schools (in a secondary school (in one hour a week for two years). This year it is optional. A parent who does not want his child to participate in health education classes must submit a written resignation to the school head by September 25. The adult's adult must submit it alone. (PAP)
