The honorary counselor of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Ionuț Dumitru, told Digi 24 on Saturday that the National Agency for Fiscal Administration is an institution that does not work normally and, in his opinion, the Romanian authorities should reform it from the foundations, giving the example of Greece.
“When we talk about collecting taxes, when we look at these low incomes that the Romanian state has according to European standards, it is a complex of factors that explain this low level, the inability to collect. After me, I do not know if the opinion of the Government is also, which I will say now. Ionuț Dumitru, quoted by the website of the news television.
The economist, whose name was among those conveyed in the public space for the position of prime minister, shortly after Nicușor Dan took over the mandate of president, stressed that the abolition and re-establishment of the Treasury is his opinion, stating that he does not know what the Executive has.
“I personally, once again, I do not know what is the opinion of the government on this subject and the Minister of Finance, first of all, that the ANAF is, but I would have an approach that should be more radical. Look what happened in Greece, for example. Greece, so he could improve the collection, what did he do? The government, with professionals appointed there, with very well defined goals ”, added Dumitru.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced in June that he named Ionuț Dumitru as an honorary counselor.

“The appointments I will make directly will qualify or disqualify me,” Bolojan replied, then announcing the appointment of Ionuț Dumitru.
