FCSB vs Rapid: Mihai Stoica and Victor Angelescu Discuss Derby Favorites

Mihai Stoica and Victor Angelescu, officials from FCSB and Rapid respectively, were asked to identify which team they consider to be the favorite in the derby scheduled for Saturday at 21:00 during round 13 of the Superliga.
Just 24 hours before the derby, Stoica and Angelescu were asked to analyze which team holds the best chance of victory in a match expected to attract over 30,000 fans to the National Arena.
Mihai Stoica on FCSB’s Advantage: “We Are Tempted to Say We Are Favorites”
Stoica hinted at FCSB being the favorites, citing the significant support from their fans. He elaborated on which Rapid players he finds most concerning.
“According to betting odds, we are the favorites. Our average odds are 2.20, compared to 3.30 for Rapid. I am tempted to say we are favorites for several reasons, including the fact that we will have the fans behind us. Having nearly 30,000 red-blue supporters will be crucial for us.
While Rapid’s current streak of six victories is impressive, it doesn’t hold much sway. Before their match against U Cluj, it was noted that U Cluj had won seven of their last nine matches against Rapid. I remarked then that all winning streaks eventually come to an end. We saw how Pancu’s incredible run at CFR did not last indefinitely. However, anything can happen in a derby.
Many factors influence the outcome of a derby match. If I could, I would take Moruțan and Dobre from Rapid. I would also consider Stojilkovic,” Stoica stated during the “Fotbal Show” on Prima Sport.
Victor Angelescu: “50-50 Chances for Both Teams”
“I don’t believe either team has a clear advantage in this match, nor in these types of derbies in general. I have my reasons for this belief. Both sides have strong rosters, and it’s undeniable that both teams feature very talented players who are likely to reach the play-offs, coupled with two excellent coaches. The chances are 50-50.
The team that maintains greater focus during the match will emerge victorious. I wouldn’t ever agree to a draw tomorrow. I would prefer Garita not to play, as well as hoping that Pădurariu won’t be utilized,” Angelescu remarked.
The number of tickets sold has already set a season record. We surpassed 30,000, precisely as anticipated, even including Rapid’s tickets, which exceeded 5,000. The weather tomorrow looks promising, and I believe there will be over 35,000 spectators or around that number.- Mihai Stoica, ahead of FCSB vs Rapid
