Back then, Inter triumphed over PSV Eindhoven 2-1, Napoli overcame Liverpool 1-0, Roma bested Viktoria Plzen 5-0, and Juventus defeated Young Boys Bern 3-0, according to reports from sportal.bg. Additionally, for the first time in the tournament’s history, three Italian clubs scored at least four goals in the same round.
These remarkable performances were complemented by four victories from Primavera teams in the UEFA Youth League. Inter U19 defeated Shakhtar U19 2-0, Como U19 won against Manchester United U21 2-1, Napoli’s juniors beat Bodo/Glimt 1-0, and AS Roma U19 achieved a 5-0 victory over Slovan’s U19 team.
