Armed Group from Belarus Allegedly Storms Latvia Border
Recent reports suggest that an armed group from Belarus attempted to storm the border with Latvia. However, these claims appear to be exaggerated, with the situation characterized as another provocation at the frontier. Approximately 20 undocumented migrants were reportedly trying to cross into the European Union, accompanied by armed individuals on the Belarusian side who threatened Latvian border guards and displayed aggressive behavior, attempting to push the crowd towards Latvia.
Hours after this incident, masked individuals crossed into Latvia, vandalized an electrical distribution box, and stole surveillance cameras before retreating back to Belarus. As of now, no significant escalation has occurred, raising concerns about NATO’s seemingly passive response to this potential threat.
