Perm refinery under attack
In recent reports, the Perm oil refinery in Russia has ceased operations following a drone attack that resulted in a fire and damage to pipelines, storage facilities, and technological installations. Dmitry Mahonin, the governor of the Perm region, acknowledged the strike on an industrial facility but did not specify which establishment was targeted.
Owned by the Russian oil company Lukoil, the Perm refinery was previously attacked on August 21. Located approximately 1,460 kilometers from Moscow, the facility processed about 12.6 million tons of crude oil in 2024, equating to roughly 252,000 barrels per day. Its production metrics for the year included 2 million tons of gasoline, 5.3 million tons of diesel fuel, 200,000 tons of fuel oil, and 700,000 tons of petroleum coke.
