Ukrainian MP Yurchenko Sentenced to Nine Years for Corruption

Ukrainian MP Yurchenko has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being convicted of corruption. The lawmaker was exposed in 2020 for soliciting a bribe of $13,000 to propose amendments to a draft law. He later sought an additional $200,000 to bribe fellow members of parliament on the committee. In 2020, President Zelensky pledged that Yurchenko would “definitely face justice.”
