The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) of Ukraine has issued a statement regarding the recent night raids conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). The PGO affirmed its collaboration with the ongoing investigations and announced the suspension and forthcoming dismissal of an individual implicated in the inquiry. This process continues to be evaluated legally, as the scope of the investigative actions and access necessitates separate legal assessments.
During these operations, NABU was granted access to proceedings involving the leadership of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and materials regarding the undercover activities of the detectives. The PGO emphasized that there is no evidence implicating the prosecution’s leadership in any illegal activities, only assumptions have been made.
The statement further highlighted that preparations for legitimate searches against alleged criminals have been wrongly portrayed as “assisting criminals”. Each aspect of the case will receive a thorough legal evaluation. Additionally, the PGO noted that Prosecutor General Krawchenko has been at work since the morning, dispelling rumors about his unavailability during this critical period.
