Former Police Colonel Found Dead Near Apartment Building in Russia

Authorities have confirmed the death of a retired police colonel found near an apartment building in Russia, as reported by E1.RU. Residents later identified the deceased as former law enforcement officer Sergey Shalaginov, who had recently retired.
Pro-government outlet URA.Ru reported that Shalaginov, a former deputy head of the Center for Extremism Prevention, allegedly took his own life after waiting for his official dismissal from service. This was reportedly preceded by a conflict with his superiors, although the news article was subsequently removed from the site.
The regional branch of the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed Shalaginov’s death to TASS on September 3, but did not disclose the cause of death and denied any workplace conflict.
