Valentin Crețu’s Controversial Salary Demand Following FCSB Scandal

In a recent match, FC Argeș suffered a heavy defeat against FCSB, ending with a score of 0-5. The spotlight fell on Valentin Crețu, 37, who has been embroiled in controversy over the past week. Gigi Becali, the owner of FCSB, revealed that Crețu had made a peculiar request after being reinstated to the team.

Crețu was sidelined for the match against UTA, which FCSB lost 1-3, following a dispute with MM Stoica and Arnold Garita during Wednesday’s training session. Although he was later welcomed back to the squad, an injury to his back puts his availability for the upcoming game against Dinamo in doubt.

Valentin Crețu’s Salary Request Revealed

Becali recounted that upon his return to the team, Crețu expressed a desire for a higher salary. “If I told you what Crețu said to me, you’d burst out laughing. ‘Nea Gigi, I’ve dedicated my life to the team, but if you want me to play as a starter, I need my salary raised from 10,000 to 15,000,'” Becali stated, emphasizing the absurdity of the request. “Can you imagine? I accept you back into the team, and you come asking for a raise?”

Becali dismissed Crețu’s demands, stating, “He will play, no question about it. I will choose him as a starter because he gives his all on the pitch. He runs a lot and sometimes delivers good crosses. He’s a good kid, passionate about the game.”

Mihai Stoica, an FCSB official, shared his perspective on the situation: “I was a bit intense and joked with him, saying, ‘Hey, Crețu, do you want me to hit you?’ It was just a lighthearted remark. We had a conversation in the locker room afterward. It was blown out of proportion; there was no threat involved. You can argue with Crețu while smiling. I expected Gigi to reinstate him.”
