Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a significant defense funding gap of $27 billion during a “Coalition of Willing” meeting on August 24, according to reports. The defense ministry is actively identifying potential partners to engage in targeted discussions aimed at securing additional financing for specific defense needs.
Minister Hmara emphasized that Ukraine will present a clear vision and plan to its partners, detailing the objectives of its defense forces, the projects required, and the expected outcomes and timelines.

- On June 10, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a budget amendment for 2026 to enhance funding for security and defense. Former Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko stated that defense expenditures will reach a record 4.4 trillion UAH, with over 1.45 trillion UAH allocated for military personnel salaries.
