Liverpool is making significant strides in its pursuit of Bradley Barcola, the 23-year-old winger currently with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The left-sided player is anticipated to finalize a contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2032. The only outstanding matter is agreeing on a transfer fee for the double Champions League winner.
In the final days of the summer transfer window, Liverpool has ramped up discussions to bring Barcola to England. The club’s management plans to enter a new round of negotiations with PSG, which has reportedly decided to lower its financial demands to facilitate the sale of the French international, who has 28 caps and six goals to his name.
Barcola’s Price Drops from €170 Million to €135 Million
According to journalist Paul Joyce from The Times, PSG initially valued Barcola at £145 million (approximately €170 million) at the outset of negotiations but has now revised this figure downward.
The latest asking price stands at £115 million (around €135 million), marking a 20% decrease aimed at concluding the deal.
Barcola, who participated in all eight matches for France at the 2026 World Cup, netting two goals and providing two assists, has expressed a strong desire to join Liverpool and has already negotiated terms for his contract. Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira indicates that Barcola is expected to sign a five-season deal.
PSG has generated €154 million from the sales of players like Goncalo Ramos (to AC Milan), Randal Kolo Muani (to Juventus), and Kang-in Lee (to Atletico), while investing €152 million in new acquisitions.
The double Champions League winner is determined to play at Liverpool and has not been included in PSG’s squad for their last two games after being benched in the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa, which ended 2-1.
Barcola Left Out of Squad Amid Increased Competition
Under manager Luis Enrique, PSG has brought in three attackers this summer, including World Cup winner Ferran Torres from Barcelona, Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax, and French player Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, totaling an investment of €143.5 million.
With PSG retaining Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue, Barcola’s opportunities have significantly dwindled.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s manager Andoni Iraola acknowledged the team’s need for wingers, having previously explored options like Yankubu Minteh from Brighton and Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace.
Last season, Barcola scored 13 goals and contributed seven assists in 49 appearances (35 as a starter) for PSG. Overall, he has had a hand in 76 goals for the Parisians, with 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 matches.
