A drone attack on Chernihiv has resulted in the deaths of a 49-year-old woman and a four-year-old child, while a 14-year-old girl was hospitalized. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning at 4:33 AM regarding an incoming strike.
The attack triggered a fire that destroyed a private residential building where three individuals were present at the time. Emergency responders discovered the bodies during search operations.
In addition to the residential damage, several outbuildings were also impacted, and a nearby shop caught fire as well.
Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that firefighting efforts in Chernihiv were successful. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the night of August 26, a total of 162 attack drones targeted Ukraine, with 134 being intercepted.
